I'm having an awesome time today. I went to the mall with my boyfriend and bought a lot of books. Some that I really wanted and some new ones I hadn't seen before. I'll post later about them. Posted via LiveJournal.app.

I admit I've been on a complete reading shortage since college started. I barely had time to sleep, much less have fun like normal people. So now that I am on my Holiday break, I am going to try and read a couple of books. Although I'm not sure I'll be able to read as much as I want to. Why, you might ask. It's simple, I've been going out a lot this December. :P Anyway, on to my rant about the latest book I've read.
Remember Me? By Sophie Kinsella Summary: When twenty-eight-year-old Lexi Smart wakes up in a London hospital, she’s in for a big surprise. Her teeth are perfect. Her body is toned. Her handbag is Vuitton. Having survived a car accident—in a Mercedes no less—Lexi has lost a big chunk of her memory, three years to be exact, and she’s about to find out just how much things have changed.
My opinion: I LOVE Sophie Kinsella. Ever since I discovered her books, I've enjoyed reading all of them. Remember Me? was published in 2008 in hardcover. The thing is-- I don't buy hardcovers. Unless they're in the bargain bin at Borders for 5 dollars. BUT I managed to find an "international" edition of the book in paperback at Walgreens. So I took the chance and bought the book. And I am so happy I did. Ever since I read the book summary I knew I wanted to read it. And I finally got my chance to do so. When I started reading the book I could not put it down. This led me to finish the book a couple of hours later. And when I did so, I finished with a happy sigh. This is the type of book I love.
Lexi Smart is a typical working young lady. She has an office job, a boyfriend and a normal life. Sure, it could be better. She didn't get a bonus, she got drunk with friends at a bar, her boyfriend stood her up, she got soaking wet and ended up falling off some stairs. But after this particular fall, she wakes up in a hospital to something she did not expect. Suddenly, she is the boss of her department at work. She has a rich husband, perfect teeth and gorgeous hair. Pretty much everything she could wish for. Until she discovers how many secrets this new life has and she begins to question where did she lose herself. This book was amazing!! Kinsella's writing kept me reading, questioning what really happened to Lexi Smart. How everything changed and who are these new people she knows. Especially, the way her personality changed all of a sudden. There is a nice detail of the love she finds in the story as well. But I'd consider that more as a side part of the plot. The main focus was finding herself. And this is what made me love this book so much. Lexi showed how strong she was throughout the entire book and how much she could do to not only discover herself, but to keep on going in life. In the end, Lexi made the right choices and proved herself. I definitely loved this book, the plot and the characters. Kudos to Kinsella. This is now one of my favorite books and my personal favorite book of hers.

If I'd say I absolutely love Island of Happiness... I would be lying. I hate the gameplay. I hate it so much!! I've already gotten used to walking with the stylus, but it's craptastic. That's no fun. Where has the d-pad use gone to??!!?? But it's still fun!! Just not the gameplay!!! And second... I want Princess Debut!!!! It looks so cute and otome game-ish!!! Would love to get it!!! I've been really tired lately. I feel like I have no energy. University is so tiring. And classes are so different from high school. It's not pretty and it's not fun. The only fun parts are when I'm hanging out with people I've met. That's always nice. Current Mood: tired

So I've been busy. Getting everything in place for college. I have my program. I only take one class on Tuesdays & Thursdays: Chemistry. That means Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I take: Univ (this one doesn't count), Pre-Calculus I, Biology, Intermediate English I, Biology and Chemistry Labs. Ah~ Two more days and classes start. I'm kinda nervous.... I guess. At least my roomates are nice. Except for two that I haven't met. *sigh*

As the title of this post suggests I've been busy busy busy. I've been packing because I'm moving to my dorm this week. *sigh* I haven't had that much free time at all. And in the few moments I've been sick (yes). Um, but I've managed to play some DS and read in those moments. I'm loving Harvest Moon DS Cute and can't wait to receive my copy of Island of Happiness!! I also got the Save the Homeland game... although I don't like it (You can't get married!!! What's the point???). And um... read some books here and there. Current Mood: blah

Ahh!! I seriously do!!! Everytime I go out I need to buy everything pretty I see. It's an obsession, I'm telling you. Like the other day I saw this purse and it was so gorgeous and I just HAD to buy it even though I don't use that type of purse frequently. And then I saw this converse and they were so pretty and I just HAD to buy them too because I just had to. I'm not even probably gonna use them that much. It's the same with books. Everytime I go out and there's a shop where books are sold-- I come out with at least 3 to 4 books. That is wrong in so many levels. I need to control this. Ahh! I so must control this. I love books. I really do. But sometimes I forget about them and don't read for months. I can't really focus on many things at the same time so it's either book/anime/manga or whatever else. I don't know why, I'm just weird. Lately I've been buying lots of books (that I don't even read). It's because they sound so good at the time that I just have to buy them. I've decided to stop doing that though. But, from what I've read lately some are great and others not so much.
#1- Can you keep a secret? - Sophie Kinsella
This was my second chick-lit book and the first good one. I'm so glad I decided to try reading a Sophie Kinsella book. It was a great read. The premise was simple. Emma Corrigan thinks she is going to die in an airplane ride and spills all of her secrets to the passenger next to her (who just happens to be extremely handsome). And then she finds out he's the CEO of the company she works at! I loved this book so much!!! It had so many fun moments. Emma is so silly, but amusing. And Jack Harper was handsome and mysterious. Definitely a must-read! Especially if you're as into Meg Cabot's writing as I am! Kinsella's writing reminded me a lil bit of Meg. #2- Fiancé at her Fingertips - Kathleen BacusDebra Daniels buys a gag box at a novelty store which includes the perfect way to get rid of all those people nagging you to find a man. I sure wish I could get one of those. Anyways, "Lawyer Logan" as the box calls him ends up appearing at Debra 's door!!! And there's also a sort-of unexpected turn halfway through the novel. I've been reading romance novels for some months now. They've been good, but what I mostly read was dramatic novels. Not that I'm not into them, but I'm more of a comedy kind of girl. So when I got my hands on Fiancé at her Fingertips, I wanted to read it right away. And it was such a fun experience! I couldn't put it down. It had many laugh out loud moments. I don't laugh that easily anymore so that means this book really was funny. With a hint of paranormal thrown in!! And now some new additions to my To-be-read list. It keeps growing and piling up.I'm almost catching up to the Viz releases of Love*Com. I love this series as both an anime and manga. It's so hilarious!! Go Risa!!! And after the great read that was Can you keep a Secret? I just had to buy The Undomestic Goddess. I want to buy at least all of Kinsella's standalone novels since I don't want to get into any more series for now. Then there is Queen of Babble. I'm a HUGE Meg Cabot fan and I obviously want to read all of her books. So now I'm going to read the QoB series. I admit it sounds a little bit like Can you keep a secret?, but I don't care because it sounds awesome too. And the last one, A Promise of Romance. I finally found a yaoi novel at Borders. That's highly unlikely at the local Borders because they never have the books I want. And they don't really carry much yaoi titles. I almost bought Sweet Admiration too, but I couldn't spend any more money. :( For the next one I guess. Ah, I've got a lot of books to read. Aside from these ones, there's around 40 more in my TBR pile. That's gonna take a while... Current Mood: bouncy

First of all, O-M-G I haven't been online in forever!!! That aside, on to the serious fangirl rant. I started watching Zettai Kareshi the first time the fansubs were released. At first, it was all great. I had no problems with the changes since those things happen in dramas frequently. BUT, my huge problem with the drama and what led me to drop it after 5 episodes was the inconsistency and the complete new story. I just cannot think of this girl as Riko. She is NOT Riko. She does NOT behave like Riko did in the manga. I mean, okay you can't be like a high school girl, but this story is completely different!! Where is the love for Night?? I would've liked to see her end up with Soshi anyways because he was my favorite choice in the manga, but not in this way!!! She does not care for Night agt all and this drama is a huge mess. I'm still thinking about whether I love or hate Jemima J. I started reading this chick-lit novel a couple of days ago. And I just finished it. I'm in shock... how the heck did it get so many good reviews!!? Seriously, it's not that good. It actually pissed me off most of the time I was reading it. The main character is this self-centered overweight woman who blames it on food. Not every person who is overweight is because he/she eats compulsively. I'm not an overweight person but I felt that was pretty annoying. And when the main character does say: “Bollocks. The only reason anyone’s that size is because they eat too much. Trust me. I know.” I went WTF. That's definitely not the only reason. Right then and there Jemima hit rock bottom and I was 100% sure nothing in the story would make me change my mind. She turns into this extremely skinny (you know like those creepy Hollywood models) girl who is obsessed with exercise and basically not eating. Most of the book is blah okay except for the moments where I wanted to throw the book away from the annoyance of Jemima's personality.
And yes, you probably notice. “Well, you obviously hate it.” But that's when the other side of this book comes in. It's actually very addictive. It has its funny parts. I did like Jemima's opinion of California and its people. I thought it was funny yet crude. And I DID read it for the ending which did not disappoint me in some point. I went “HA! There you go bitch!” at the 'Brad's Secret' part. That felt good. ^^
What had made me read this book was the summary where it mentioned an unexpected ending. I like the unexpected part. Hehe
So this book is in the line between love and hate. I think I won't be able to choose. >_<''

Meh I haven't updated in a while this journal. I've been busy scanlating and doing other things. Now school started again... so it means I'll be posting less here and at my other journal. (Not that I ever do anything useful) Current Mood: blah

Since this journal is supposed to be my "fandom" journal, I'll go ahead and make a post. I started watching a jdrama 2 days ago called "Hotaru no Hikari". I usually don't watch dramas, but lately I've been into them. Anyways, I decided to watch this because the synopsis sounded so interesting and because it has a manga version (which I hope gets scanlated more). I just finished watching and I just have to say it's one of my favorite dramas. It was so funny and cute, but at times serious as well. It didn't take me long to finish watching which is a very good sign. A very amusing story. The only thing that I did not like was the end. It felt rushed, but then again 10 episodes is not what I'd call enough. Plus, she never kissed the guy ... *spoiler*. That was very disappointing. But, it was still a cute series with a cute ending. ^_^ Now I want to see more of the cast in other works. I think this might become a chain... from one drama to the other. That's not a good sign. >.<'' Oh and Kato Kazuki did such a great job as Teshima Makoto. I hope he gets other jobs acting because I want to see him again. ^_^ Current Mood: bouncy

YAY! New layout by passing_girl. I like how it looks. I changed it since the other one was getting old. And I needed to update about something in this journal. I have been busy with finals and other things, but now I'm free. Holidays! YAY! Current Mood: accomplished

So I started doing some scanlating and I have to say it's no easy job. It's actually sorta tiring but fun. I've only done 3 releases so far, but I'll be releasing again soon. (It's the editing, It's just that... it kills me...) But wow, doing all of it by myself is a lot of work. I wonder how long I'm going to last doing it.. (hopefully long and finish all projects)

Again, my livejournal has been abandoned. I've begun to wonder why I even have it. I guess it because of the communities. Oh well. In other things, I've begun uploading videos on a frequent basis on YouTube. I even started making amv's (most of them suck, in my opinion) but it's a fun hobbie. ^_^ And I got a new lj layout. Isn't it just awesome? Hei = HOT!!!
Oh and I bought DDR SuperNova 2!!!! OMG!!! That game is just awesome!!!! I like how they set up the main game mode. (I's better than SuperNova in that) But I like SuperNova's tracklist better than the sequel though. I've yet to unlock a super hyper song and I'm only a level away of finishing. >.<' Current Mood: amused
